Nottawasaga Pines Secondary

The atrium is located at the entrance of the school and is a place of welcome and gathering.

Doug Snyder, Principal

The atrium is located at the entrance of the school and is a place of welcome and gathering.  As students and staff arrive at the school, even before they enter the building, they can see through the curtain wall of glass into the atrium, and feel an immediate sense of connection with what is happening.

Most of the key programming areas radiate from this central space, both vertically and horizontally. From here, students can experience an undeniable connection to nearly every aspect of their school; social, academic, community, athletic. Everything is important, everything can be seen, an incredible energy is generated in this space that keeps students and staff, engaged, excited and happy to be there.

A wide 2nd floor corridor space overlooking the atrium was turned into a lounge which also has an overview of the cafeteria on the other side.  Students have already claimed this space as their own and raised funds to furnish it.
