Alton Village Public

The facade design elements are more broken down and finely defined through the use of various materials.

Avinash Garde, Principal

The school forms the centre of its Alton Village community and has a welcoming, low-rise stone facade at the entrance, overseen by a cantilevered glazed projection of the second storey library.

The design of the facade of Alton Village was an important consideration since day one – being the Board’s first 3-storey elementary school design, there was a conscious effort to minimize the scale of the building by breaking down the massing and externally expressing the different spatial volumes when viewing the building from the street; and of the Kindergarten area façade by articulation of the various elements like windows, sun control devices and  spandrels through different materials, texture and colour accents.
